How does it work?
The creation of your store and your departments in the application
First step: we determine together the layout of your departments within the application. These are what we call workspaces that generally correspond to a department (dairy, yogurt, baby…). These different workspaces are then broken down into elements: the furniture or shelves of each department.
This means that Smartdetection knows where your tracked products are in the store, in which workspace and on which shelf! It will therefore be able to indicate to your teams where a product close to its expiration date is to be removed from a shelf: a considerable time saving for the store employees!
The recording of dates: the addition of the shortest expiration date
The products are located in your point of sale, it remains now to inform the application with what interests it: the expiration date. But not all the dates: only the shortest expiration date, which will allow Smartdetection to launch an alert when the product is out of its freshness chart!
During a single inventory, called the recording of dates (or date record), you enter for each product reference the shortest expiration date present on the shelf. Please note that this date record is unique and that it will not be necessary to do it at each delivery, it is simple and quick to do, one morning on average.

After this unique date collection, Smartdetection is operational! Every morning, the application will alert you to products close to their expiration date that need to be removed from the shelves: you will know exactly where to find them in your workspace. To keep the database of expiration dates up to date, the application will ask you to enter the nearest new date for the reported product. And that’s it.
